# State Type Reference

Cogna8's type system classifies state items based on their operational role and governance characteristics. Each core type has subtypes for finer classification.

## Type Categories

The classification system spans the full range of operational information - from verified facts and binding decisions to working assumptions and directional goals. Each category carries different default behaviors for decay resistance, conflict severity, and gate participation.
